Hope was a gentle, affectionate cat who had spent his entire life in the same neighborhood. He was cared for and fed by the local community, so he had no reason to fear people. When a group of cruel young individuals called him over, he trusted them—only to be met with unthinkable brutality.
They stabbed him five times. They shattered his skull. They beat him until his tiny body could take no more. And when they decided he was “done,” they urinated on him—marking their twisted sense of victory over a helpless soul.
By the time we came across the post, days had already passed. Hope had been taken to a municipality shelter, where no treatment would be provided. Left in a small box, unconscious, he went three days without food, water, or medical care—his fate all but decided.
We couldn’t let that be the end of his story. We searched for contacts, pulled every string we could, and got him out. Hope was rushed to a private clinic, where he fought for his life. He endured multiple surgeries, including a skin transplant. His recovery was long—more than six months of pain, fear, and struggle.
But Hope survived.
And now, he’s finally preparing to leave the clinic, carrying the scars of his past but also the strength of his name. He is more than a survivor—he is a symbol. A symbol of resilience. A symbol of defiance against cruelty.
Hope gave his name to our association because he embodies what we fight for. He is our HOPE against evil. Our HOPE for a kinder world.
